Jump little children.

Today I attended a lot of district meetings at the high school, as the "official kick off" of the school year. After a nice continental breakfast, the marching band played, the cheerleaders performed the school song, and a middle school chorus sang the National Anthem. Everyone was given orange and black Mardi Gras beads. It was really a lot of hullabaloo. The best part was when the same chorus busted out a Napoleon Dynamite-esque rendition of Earth, Wind, and Fire's "Shooting Star."

Rhythmless children performing groovy dance moves while wearing neon headbands.

It's gonna be a great semester.

you guys are funny. i have heard the horror stories of people fired for blogging on the job, and i've heard the rumors of companies googling prospective employees to take a look at their blogs, myspace accounts, etc. my last name isn't on any account i have. i'm hard to track. but, if you're worried, then NO SOUP FOR YOU.

in all seriousness, i've never disclosed the name of the school...i think i only mentioned the name of the shoe slangin' store once (and they wouldn't give a shit anyway). and i am fully aware that it is against federal law to discuss students with anyone, even fellow teachers who aren't privy to the info.

Your school sounds like fun. How many of the kids could correctly name the band Earth Wind and Fire as the songwriters? I'll go with less than 3% of the kids...just a guess...
